"Neurodiversity 101" CE Webinar Presentation

Join NASW-CO for this engaging & affirming continuing education webinar where presenter Ari Levine, LPCC, will introduce key concepts of the neurodiversity paradigm, helping clinicians move away from pathology-based models and toward neurodivergent-affirming therapeutic practices.

You’ll learn:

  • Definitions and a brief history of the neurodiversity movement
  • The difference between the neurodiversity paradigm and the pathology model
  • How ableism shows up in clinical settings – and how to dismantle it
  • Common traits of sensory neurodivergent folks (e.g., HSPs, ADHDers, Autistics)
  • The impact of oppression and trauma on neurodivergent nervous systems
  • Clinical strategies to affirm and support neurodivergent clients

About the Presenter:

Ari Levine, LPCC (they/them) is a neurodivergent, non-binary, queer artist, educator, and advocate currently completing their MA in Counseling Psychology at the University of Denver. Ari is a Lead Trainer with the Neurodiversity-Affirming Psychotherapy Training Institute (NAPTI) and specializes in supporting clinicians to shift from pathologizing models to inclusive and affirming care for neurodivergent individuals.

Ari brings a unique blend of clinical insight, creative energy, and deep commitment to dismantling ableism and white supremacy in mental health practice.
