"New Era of Social Work Ethics", presented by Betsy Cauble of Assurance Services Inc.
$35 for members and $75 for non-members; 3 CE hours will be offered.
This workshop is intended for social workers in all settings and positions, not just the clinical, therapeutic mental health setting. The session will cover key concepts in risk management, such as confidentiality and its exceptions, duty to warn, and informed consent. We will also present the major reasons why social workers are sued and what you can do about those risks.
Come and join us in our refreshed risk management workshop “Ethics and Risk Management in the New Era of Social Work" brought to your chapter courtesy of NASW Assurance Services, Inc. We want to give social workers peace of mind not only through our malpractice solutions but also by providing relevant content and educational information to help mitigate any potential risk during the social work journey.
After this workshop attendees will be able to:
- Understand the current ethical issues and risks faced by the profession, including common ethical dilemmas, mistakes, and violations
- Know the key concepts that will reduce your risk of being sued for malpractice and the triggers that constitute malpractice
- Become aware of strategies and understand the resources to avoid ethical violations and manage risk
