Brief Job Description

The Colorado State University School of Social Work seeks two full-time MSW Program Advisors (hybrid) to support prospective and current students. The Advisors will extend individualized and collective support to students with a focus on building an inclusive learning community. The Advisors will demonstrate their commitment to social justice, equity, inclusion, and belonging through their work and interactions with students and colleagues.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
This position is a 12-month administrative professional role (AP), requiring an MSW degree. The Masters of Social Work (MSW) Advisor applies expertise about the social work profession and the MSW program at CSU to support prospective and current students throughout their pre-program and program experiences. The MSW Advisor also supports classroom instructors and the MSW and School of Social Work Teams. This role requires some schedule flexibility, which may include occasional weekend commitments.

  • MSW degree
  • Strong written and communication skills
  • Identified contributions and/or potential to contribute to diversity and inclusion in workplace and/or educational settings
  • Demonstrated commitment to social justice and equity based on a history of training, education, or liberation-based activities
Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years post MSW degree experience
  • Experience with, academic advising or providing supports to students in various capacities, project management, communications, personnel or student recruitment and/or support, and/or event planning
  • Ability to facilitate above responsibilities (conversations, manage communications, and work on recruitment strategies) with an awareness of inclusion, privilege, oppression, and intersectionality connected to diverse student identities
  • Conversational Spanish

Compensation $52,000-$57,000
